It was available in the market in 1999, it was one
of the more thin, light and small cellular phone. It was the phone of the
moment! The weight is only 81g and it's 15mm thin. The main design
characteristic is the active flip that will open automatically when you
push a little button on the right side of the phone. If you do it when the phone
ring, it will answer at the call and conclude when you close the flip. It was
the first cellular phone with a li-po battery.
Despite the dimension, the battery life is very good: 270 minute of conversation
and 200 hours of standby (over 8 days!)
The software present an evolution respect at previous ericsson: as usual fo
ericsson, to move in to the menu you use the right/left arrow and to access at
menu you press the central button, but everything is full of insight thanks to
the icons. In T28 are present 2 games: solitary and tetris. To play trtris you
need to rotate the phone..!
It has the GPRS connectivity, but it's not possible to surf internet
fron the phone because it hasn't a wap browser. it's possible to buy an
optional infrared modem, so it's possible to surf internet connecting
the phone with a portable computer with GPRS speed
If the radio signal is too low, Ericsson sell the
"Ericsson high performance", an aerial that you can replace to the original, the
shape is the same but the user can extract it and so to have more signal.
T28 was made in 4 version:
-T28s: GSM 900/1800mhz -T28z: GSM 1900mhz for
north america -T28 world: GSM 900/1900 to be used in all the world
(it lose the 1800mhz frequency) -T28sc: destinated to china maket, with
china alphabet support.
There are 2 available kind of battery: the slim and
the high capacity, both with li-po technology.

The T28 glory had short life... in one hand T28 was
a fame for design, on the other hand, stain ericsson brand for dependability
problem of the phone. The most important problem is for the rapid usury of the
button which governate the flip, the improvvise dead of the phone (final
transmission component broke. The only solution is to change the chip), problem
with the signal (one cool broke.. also here the only problem is to change it).
T28 was replaced by T29, which solve a lot of t28 problem but lost the charm....
